Abaco Strong was formed by leaders in the community for the purpose of coordinating long-term rebuilding efforts after hurricane Dorian. Our mission is to enable the building of prosperous, sustainable, and environmentally responsible communities. We work closely with community leaders to not only understand the needs of individuals, families, and the community at large, but also to help them move forward and thrive.

In the immediate aftermath of hurricane Dorian in September 2019, our efforts centered on disaster relief, prioritizing initiatives like the home rebuilding program and ensuring food security. Additionally, community-building programs were paramount. Today, our focus has evolved towards a wider vision, focused on sustainable practices in community development. Our range of programs – such as School Gardens, Backyard Farmers, Medical Campaigns, and Playgrounds – directly tackle these ongoing needs.
